I turned 23 recently and it has just made me think a lot about how I want to spend my 20s. Those columns of "What you must do in your 20s" are not all that inspiring or helpful. Most of the advice is to do something risky, with the implication that the time is perfect because your responsibilities are limited, which is half-true. Meg Jay's TED talk on "Make the most of your 20s" emphasized that these are not "throw-away years" and I think she is right. I already hear the clock ticking.
